Dr. N. Godhantaraman, INNOTAL Project Manager, UGC HRDC, University of Madras, gave the inaugural address and welcomed all the participants of the webinar. Dr. Bharathi Harishankar, INNOTAL Project - Principal Investigator, Professor & Head, Department of Women Studies has highlighted the numerous services and initiatives that are carried out as part of the project in order to popularise the notion of entrepreneurship education and to explain the project's goal to students, educate them, and raise their awareness.
The welcome address was given by Dr.S. Manjula, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, University of Madras, who also introduced the resource person, Ms. Revathi Subramanian, Managing Director, Chief Data Scientist, and Global Head – Data Science, Accenture Operations, United States of America.
The invited speaker gave a presentation on "Reinventing the Workplace – Corona and Beyond”. She divided the several significant global workplace trends into four categories: technology, communication, climate change, and the Coronavirus. She also compared AI's natural language processing with the "NLP" of the workplace, which has evolved in terms of Nature, Location, Process, and People. She concentrated on the progression of the workplace's environment, from sitting and working in one spot for long periods of time to working from anyplace. She also underlined the need of artificial intelligence and data analytics in detecting bank fraud. The resource person has also highlighted the available employability opportunities in AI and Data Science and possible tips for start-ups in technology related areas.
She wrapped off her presentation by discussing how Covid altered the working process and people by providing individuals incredible flexibility in exchange for tremendous responsibility. She also found out how, as work gets more virtual, we may physically engage with individuals at work.
