RKU organized Start-up INNOCAVE (in association with Startup Cell Gujarat and Industrial Commissionerate - Government of Gujarat)
This was an insight meet and expo in collaboration with SRISTI (Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions) for the grassroots innovators, women entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs and rural entrepreneurs to nurture ideas/innovations towards startup ecosystem of Saurashtra Region. The event took place 1 October 2021.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Denish Patel, Executive Vice President R K University. Mr. Hanshrajbhai Gajera, President of Gujarat Rajya Binamat Ayog, Vice President Laghu Udyog Bharti and Director- Rajkot Nagrik Sahkari Bank delivered a talk to motivate participants. Then Mr. K.V. Mori who is General Manager DIC, Rajkot gave guidance and informed the participants regarding the current scenario on the market and the opportunities available in the Saurashtra region for the young entrepreneurs.
Mr. Chetan Patel from SRISTI guided the participants regarding the needs of industry and how to fill the gap between industries and academia via entrepreneurial behaviors.
Talking about innovation, grassroots Innovator Mr. Mansukhbhai Prajapati who has started his startup in the name of Mitticool, who is also the winner of lots of awards motivated students by sharing his startup story. The grassroots innovators Mr. Mansukh Jagnani and Mr. Yash Bhatt shared their stories with the Innovators and Participants.
Then all the dignitaries, Innovators and Participants headed for the Expo Visit.
After the Expo visit, there was a session by Chief Guests Professor Anil K Gupta and Mr. D R Parmar. Padmashree Awardee - Professor Anil K Gupta is Visiting Faculty, IIM Ahmedabad & IIT Bombay and an independent thinker, activist for the cause of creative communities and individuals at grassroots, tech institutions and in any other walk of life. Professor Anil K. Gupta is founder of Honeybee Network. He explained how incubators motivate and escalate the grassroots activities. He also discussed how grassroots innovators estimate the market for their innovations. Adding to it he also discussed steps an innovator should follow to get funding.
Guest of honor Mr. D R. Parmar, Joint Commissioner Startup Cell, Gujarat, provided guidance regarding the government scheme and policies to kick start startup ideas, and how one can get benefits from the incubation cell.
