University of Madras organized a webinar Opportunities and Avenues in Entrepreneurship for Women
The event took place online August 24, 2021. In the beginning of the webinar, Dr. N. Godhantaraman, INNOTAL Project Manager, UGC HRDC, delivered the inaugural address. The session was then presided over by Dr. Bharathi Harishankar, INNOTAL Project – Principal Investigator, Professor & Head, Department of Women Studies, University of Madras. She illustrated the various activities and programs that are run under the project to popularise the concept of Social Entrepreneurship to the students, sensitize them and increase the awareness among them.
The resource person - Ms.T.Vanadhi Devi, Partner at Vista Edition, Director at Trade well Cargo Pvt.Ltd, Founder President – Southern Industrial Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Development (SIAWED) - delivered a talk on the topic “Opportunities and avenues in Entrepreneurship for Women”. She explained about the various business opportunities available for women such as event management, digital marketing, senior care services, skilled manpower agency, etc., She specifically focused on the skills required to become a successful entrepreneur. She concluded the lecture by advising participants to be positive and never fear failures.
