The Talent Lab at Pokhara University organized webinar “Creative Discourse on Software Development”

The training for around 70 participants took place April 3, 2021. The event focused entirely on a student project: a student built platform. Pokharauniversity.io (proposed name) is a student-built open-source platform for student developers to improve the student experience at PU. This is a student-led project that will open up the data related to Pokhara University and its constituent, joint and affiliated colleges. This will allow PU students to develop web and mobile applications skipping the hassle of assimilating information. The project will hold documented APIs for several facets relating to Pokhara University including the information about Joint Constituent Colleges and Affiliated Colleges, time tables, faculties, programs, buildings, contacts, projects, clubs, events and many more. The project expands beyond a collection of data to have a user friendly mobile and web application that integrates college notices, upcoming event notices, class routines, and all the features supported by the platform.
The event helped reach volunteers from different constituent, joint and affiliated colleges and encouraged other student developers to contribute to the project or create something on their own using the platform.
The event also discussed the importance of student projects in learning at Pokhara University.
